Zwei Pole im Umgang mit Mehrsprachigkeit in der deutschen Gegenwartsliteratur: Yoko Tawadas Abenteuer der deutschen Grammatik und Daniel Lieskes The Wormworld Saga
The aim of the present contribution is to investigate the relation between plurilingualism creativity and writing in Yoko Tawada’s Abenteuer der deutschen Grammatik and Daniel Lieske’s The Wormworld Saga. The question will be addressed to what extent these two works instantiate different models of plurilingualism, the analysis will then reveal how plurilingualism affects their writing process. The article shows that in the case of Yoko Tawada plurilingualism is a key factor and an indispensable trigger for writing, whilst in Daniel Lieske’s work plurilingualism assumes a collective dimension, in which the focus of the literary project is not the author but the readers, who play a crucial role.
