Verso un modello di interpretariato in lingua semplificata
This paper presents a rules-based model for linguistic simplification of oral language that is tailored to the Italian stock of linguistic structures. It aims at facilitating access to information by means of an intervention at the level of syntax and pragmatics to meet the needs of people with complex communicative needs, thus positing the existence of a comprehensibility-oriented language variety in the Italian multilingual landscape. Linguistic accessibility thus is seen as an effective tool to foster the empowerment of its primary addressees. Also, the issue of stigma that is linked with accessibility services is addressed in this paper.
