Dal Danziger Bowke al “ picciotto di Danzica ”: la problematica della polifonia diatopica nelle rese italiane del romanzo Die Blechtrommel di Günter Grass
This paper uses a linguistic approach to analyse the Italian translations of diatopic variations in Günter Grass’s "Die Blechtrommel". In this novel several linguistic varieties create a plurilingual polyphony. This characteristic is not completely transferred into the Italian versions. As a matter of fact, the first translator, Lia Secci (1962), neutralizes the several varieties of German, even though she sometimes uses typical oral language phenomena. The second translator, Bruna Bianchi (2009), on the other hand, translates such varieties by creating an artificial dialect. The latter is used throughout the book, which makes it impossible to distinguish one variety from the other.
